The Most Influential Women In My Life

International Women's Day

The Most Influential Women In My Life

Oma

A few years ago my dad's mother, who I called Oma, (German for grandma) passed away. She was a rough and tough old woman who took no ones shit. She was a teacher who went on to being a principal. Her husband was in the Army for 20 plus years and if you know any thing about the military you know that you constantly move. In my opinion any woman who stands by her military man through it all is one tough cookie. She and I did not get as much time in this life as I would have hoped for, but in the time that I did get I learned a lot from her. She taught me to be honest with my opinions and stand up for them, she taught me to have a passion for food and cooking, and the biggest thing I can remember is her teaching me to try, try again.

Grandma Debby

My mom's mother is literally the most creative and artistic person I know. In my eyes she spends every moment of her life creating. I believe that she sees the world in a totally different way then the rest of us. She is not only creative but she is giving. She will give every cent she has left to make everyone treats on Christmas. She makes sure every baby has a blanket and clothes. She gives and gives and never stops no matter if she is run over or beat down. If you do happen to meet her bad side you will know it. She is the type that takes care of herself, babies (animals), and the neighbors cat. A true woman fiery and bold with a giving heart.

Momma

She is my best friend who punished me when needed and cherishes every thing about me. My mother is the most joyful, honest person. She loves everyone for there spirit because she can see past the bullshit. Her love is more than you could ever ask for or hope to attain. She is forgiveness and compassion. She taught me to love and smile and to be the light that shines for every one around. My momma is a driving force and always pushes you to trust yourself. Honestly the way she motivates you is like water and sun to a flower. All you can do is get out there and grow. I will never stop learning from her.
